Upcoming Events

Summertime is a busy time for us in so many ways!

Next week, on Friday, August 8th, is our August Art Walk from 6-9 pm.

The following day, Saturday, August 9th, is PhinneyWood Summer Streets from 11 am – 5 pm. This should be a fun event, very similar to the neighborhood “Night Out” block parties that happen on the first Tuesday of every August.
This means that just like a block party, our street will be closed to vehicles for Summer Streets, from 67th to 87th, from about 10 am – 6 pm. This makes for a great time for the neighborhood, but please be aware that you won’t be able to drive or park on Greenwood/Phinney that day.

Summertime is also Vacation Time!

Sean will be on vacation August 24th until September 2nd. That means his last day in the salon before he’s gone for a week and a half will be Saturday, 8/23. His first day back will be Wednesday, 9/3.

Isabella will also be on vacation around the same time, from August 28th until September 10th. So her last day in the salon will be Wednesday August 27th, and she will return on Thursday, September 11th.

We hope you’re all enjoying this beautiful summer as much as we are!

22nd Annual Greenwood Car Show this Saturday!

Don’t forget, this coming Saturday, June the 28th, is the annual Greenwood Car Show.
The show starts at 8 am and ends at 4 pm, but the street closes early (5 am) and doesn’t open back up until late (7 pm). You can cross Greenwood at 85th and 80th, but otherwise, there’s no driving on our street, just walking.

While the salon will technically be open, please keep in mind that some of the stylists may not be working for part or all of the day. The car show is a lot of fun, and has lots of things to do besides look at cars, including a pancake breakfast, live music and a kid’s zone, with a bouncy slide and pony rides.
Have fun everyone!

Art Walk success and upcoming events

The Art Walk was a HUGE success!
artupchowdownsignThank you to everyone who came out this busy evening and joined us for our grand opening event!

We got the sign installed just in time:
MERCURY

We will be participating in the regular monthly art walks, the next one will be Friday, June 13th.

Our next really BIG event will be the Greenwood Car Show. The Car Show takes place on the last Saturday of June every year. This year the date will be June 28th. The Car Show stretches from Greenwood and 67th all the way north to 87th – we will be right in the middle!
If you are planning on coming to see us that day, please be aware that the street is blocked off for this all day event. You may cross Greenwood at 80th and 85th, but Greenwood itself is closed off from 5 am until 7 pm. The Car Show is an amazing event, and you will have the perfect opportunity to check it out before or after you visit us. Also, please be aware that some of our stylists may choose to take that day off, or limit their hours, but others will be on their regular schedule and/or taking walk-ins.

Happy Art Walk Day!

Art Walk & Official Grand Opening

We’re very excited to announce that we will be participating in the upcoming big, annual Art Up PhinneyWood Art Walk in just 2 weeks. We will only be participating on the evening of May 9th, from 6 pm – 9 pm, as Saturdays are our busiest day here in the salon. Our artist is “hyper local”, a Phinney Ridge resident: Jaxon Brooks. We hope you’ll join us on Friday evening for some awesome art!

Making Progress

We’ve been hard at work these past few days, and are making lots of progress! We can’t wait to start showing you some photos of our newly renovated space. While we’re working, we’re already enjoying our new neighborhood.

We’ve been enjoying the coffee and company of our new neighbors, the Greenwood Sip n’ Ship, snacks from Ken’s Market, painting supplies and other sundries from the Greenwood True Value, and this morning we’re going to try brunch at Yanni’s (the website says they have Baklava waffles – are you kidding me?)

I’ve patronized all of these businesses occasionally over the years, but I’m really enjoying visiting all of them (and more to come, I’m sure) more often now that we’re neighbors.

We’d also like to thank the Phinneywood Blog for posting about our move this week – thank you for helping to spread our good news!

Happy Sunday everyone!
